Who’s this girl?

IMG_2222

Hola and thanks for stopping by! My name is Cristina Nogueras and this is my little corner of the internet. After almost 7 years of living in Hoboken and working in New York City, my husband and I moved down south to Atlanta to skip the gruesome winters and become biscuit connoisseurs. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico so no matter where I end up, I will always be an island girl at heart.

I started this blog back in 2013 when a lot of things around me felt uncertain and I was somewhat overwhelmed by being a grown up and living in a big city like New York. Beaches & Brie (formerly Peace, Love & Diet Coke) is my happy place and I hope you enjoy what you find here!

I will not judge where you travel to and what you eat, unless you stay put and only eat boring food. I’m all about trying new things, which is weird because for years I was probably the pickiest eater in the world. I now love everything about food, especially how it has power beyond flavor by connecting you with the world in a different way. I also have a serious case of the travel bug, but I’m not complaining, I love the excitement and motivation it brings me.

I am obsessed with our two dogs (Rico and Melo), have a love/hate relationship with cheese, love buying real books after I drink wine and can easily drool over stationery products. I have evolved from being a professional Seamless order-er (is that a thing?) to what I now consider an average cook who likes to explore new recipes.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you join me in my journey as I explore places, plates and everything on the side.
